Anchors Aweigh!

"Anchors Aweigh" - Floor & Throw Cushions 100% Linen with Denim backing

Seeing as one half of Elkhorn is having a sneaky little holiday... I thought it would be appropriate to show off our "Anchors Aweigh" Cushions, as they remind me of the sea and easy days. For now they come in a large throw cushion 50x50cm and a relaxed floor cushion 70x70cm. The Anchor design is hand-printed in navy blue on beige 100% Linen, with a sturdy denim back and our favorite natural cord edging completing the sea worthy look.  Bon voyage for now.

Finders Keepers Markets May 7th-8th 2010

We are excited to announce Elkhorn will have a stall along with other creative designers/artists at the Finders Keepers Markets, Sydney!! We are madly preparing a bit of everything "Elkhorn". So if you have any thoughts on what you would like to see more of, let us know!  These markets are only on twice a year. So if you are free it's a great chance to peruse & purchase a gorgeous range of individual keep-sake items. It's similar to going to an art gallery but with an affordable price tag. It's also a perfect time to purchase something for mum as Mother's day falls on the same weekend Sunday the 9th!

Botanical Fabric

Vines and autumn flowers mashed onto the softest cotton fabric

I have just finished smashing our beautiful garden flowers onto fabric to create this botanical imprint... I felt bad about squashing the flowers but it was worth it right? Some of them were weeds and needed to be eradicated! I love the random wild look nature help creates. This fabric will soon be cut up and added to our Ruffle Scarves! End results to be posted soon.

Porcelain homewares by Amorelita

I thought I'd share with you, these gorgeous handmade porcelain homeware's by amorelita designs. I came across her at the Kirrilbilli markets on Sunday.  Amorelita make's a selections of tealights, cups/mugs and bowls in yummy, chalky tones. I love their simplicity. What made them even more attractive was the prices, her smaller cups started at $15! I may just have to purchase some at the next markets!

Custom Designs

One question which came up a couple of times during our day at Kirribilli Markets was 'can we make other colours'?  As this is our first collection of clothing & homewares, we have kept the colour palette simple, so as not to over complicate the look while also gaining an idea on what our customers are interested in.  We would definitely consider custom designs, especially in our homewares range. We realise everyone's interior spaces are individual, so we would like to do our best to accommodate your colour scheme. Feel free to email us with your ideas and perhaps even attached an image of your interior space & what you would like to achieve and we can take it from there.

Our day at Kirribilli Markets

Glenys (Mother Elkhorn) ready to start the day

After being busy in the studio for the last couple of weeks, it was great to get out and receive such positive responses at Kirribilli Art & Design Markets. Customers and other stall holders made it a really enjoyable day. Our Ruffle Scarves and Feather cushions were a hit! In fact we sold out of the Feather cushions! It's great to start the week with renewed enthusiasm and inspiration. Thanks!
